Positive Impacts of Email Marketing

Some businesses believe email marketing is not a good marketing source to reach their customers anymore. I would say the 75% who read and purchase through email disagree. Email marketing is a great way to reach a large audience and reinforce your brand and services. Not only has email marketing grown as a service, but you can now build email automation for people who view your website and automatically get email reminders of empty shopping carts or viewing specific services, and follow-up reminders. Customers need multiple touchpoints before they decide on their buying cycle. Here are some ways that you can make your email marketing even more sophisticated.

Videos in Email.

No longer are our email builders simplistic with just static images. You can create multiple gifts and videos, integrating them into your email and having a workflow with a specific campaign showing multiple videos. This helps the customer see multiple services or products without clicking through on the email. This can raise awareness and curiosity for a person to read more.

Consistent Branding for All Emails.

Make sure that you have consistent branding throughout all of your workflows and email templates. If you create an email, and then next month, your email looks completely different without the same headers and footers, people will not remember your company. Automatic Workflow Sequences.

Most email builders have automatic workflows, so you do not have to send a manual email every time. If a person signs up for your email list or form on your website, they can automatically get a welcome email and then be put within a workflow to get follow-up emails to remind them of your services. You can create an email for each service section and send it with a time sequence so they’re not getting them back-to-back. You can build complex workflows so that when a person visits your website, they are automatically included in a specific workflow for the area of the website they’re visiting. For instance, if someone is visiting a kitchen and bath website and they are on the modern kitchen landing page, it can trigger an email workflow dedicated to trends and modern kitchens. The next email could be about the services the kitchen and bath company excels in. You can also set up a workflow from a social media link that would be triggered when they click on the specific post link. And follow up with a text reminder that they were looking at something specific, or if they have questions. The sky is the limit for how many workflows and segmentations you can create for your business.

Set Up Your Email Properly.

Account Setup. This is big, but many businesses don’t connect their email software properly. The first step is to make sure the email account is connected and authenticated in the backend of their website. Most email software accounts walk you through how to authenticate and verify your email account. This is crucial, or your email will end up in spam. Also, warm up your email account before the first send. You want to send in small batches before you send the large email, because it can trigger spam as well.

Content Setup. And speaking of spam, don’t use spammy keywords in your subject line. There are lists that include spam words to avoid, like FREE, MONEY, and URGENT. These words trigger the spam filters in many email providers, and you do not want to end up there or your email score will go down. It is very hard to fix if you are flagged as spam. If you design your emails as too promotional, this can also trigger spam filters. Be authentic and design how you would want to see an email. Build trust with your audience. And ask yourself, will your clients find this interesting? Is this informative to them? Look at the details of the email before you hit the send button.
