For several years Alchemi Design & Publications, LLP has had the privilege of creating award-winning Venue Books for a number of wedding and hospitality locations in the mid Atlantic region. Our books are designed to show off the venue at its finest and feature the vendors who support the project with their advertisements and listings in the book. The finished book is in print but more importantly with the growth in social media is also supplied in digital format for the venue to email to prospective customers and post to their online resources. As we have been at this for a while we are enjoying great feedback from venues and vendors alike who report annual growth in business due to the exposure from these pieces. We continually hear from venues that not only does the quantity of events increase but the quality of the events as well, since the books provide a way for the location to feature and up-sell particular packages, décor, catering, etc. In fact one client who is now on their fourth book has had in increase in weddings from when they started in 2007 with an average of 17 more weddings per year.
The digital version of the venue book is trackable by itself and each vendor’s ad is linked to their website, enabling them to evaluate the response they get to the book. We personally do not like to sell anyone on marketing or advertising that can’t be measured which is why we stand behind this product as a measureable asset to anyone’s overall marketing plan.
We are very proud to announce this month that the Venue Book for Westin Georgetown in Washington DC just won a Hermes Gold Award for outstanding design.

Alchemi Design has done it again taking home the Hermes Gold Design award for our DC Westin Venue Book. As well as Honorable Mention for our Smokey Joe’s Grill menu design. This is a great honor as AMCP judges are industry professionals who look for companies and individuals whose talent exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry. There were over 5,500 entries from throughout the United States, Canada and several other countries in this year’s competition. Go Team Alchemi!
Easter is now behind us but some people are still engaged in the Giving Season and hoping to Multiply Miracles. We were hard at work even before Easter to create a Stewardship Campaign for Woods Church that focused on the concept of Multiplying Miracles for a large community. This campaign evolved into a multiple step project starting with a new logo that conveyed the idea of giving back to the community and that our actions can come full circle. Then moving on to a three fold brochure, letterhead, reply card and envelopes. This was a great project to see in the final presentation, take a look for yourself!
